Inventive is hosting the industry’s content festival, the 5th Content Convention, together with the Rhineland-Palatinate State Chancellery.
TODAY. TO DO. TOMORROW.
In the anniversary edition of the Content Convention, the focus is on “Artificial Intelligence”: What will content generation look like tomorrow, what potential do generative AI systems offer, and what does that mean for the journalism of the future? 50 international speakers will discuss the different perspectives on current developments in the AI field and invite participants to reflect together on the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Decision-makers from the media industry will discuss the role of AI in journalism, the public-service broadcasting of the future, and what we can really expect from AI.
Minister President Malu Dreyer, ZDF Director General Dr. Norbert Himmler, as well as the Director of SWR, Prof. Kai Gniffke, will be at ConCon. Together with Sabine Frank, Head of Governmental Affairs and Public Policy at YouTube, and Tobias Henning, General Manager of TikTok Germany, they will discuss what AI means for the distribution of information and news and what we still need to learn in dealing with it.
Nathalie Wappler Hagen, Director of SRF, Jasmin Maeda, channel head of ZDFneo, and ARD Program Director Christine Strobl will also be on stage in person this year. ConCon23 will be hosted by journalist and presenter Janin Ullmann.
This year, ConCon also offers even more exciting masterclasses and an AI Playground, where visitors can experience the latest AI trends up close and try them out directly. As part of the masterclasses, journalist Konstantin Flemig, among others, reports on his adventures as a social media war reporter. Julia Lumma, editor-in-chief at VRM, and Mario Geisenhanslu0000ke, deputy editor-in-chief for content development at VRM, will speak about the use of AI and their learnings in local journalism.
Katja Fleischmann from dpa, Katharina Petermeier from VRM, and Rebecca Singer from RHEINPFALZ report on how the needs of readers can be integrated into everyday editorial work, what practical problems arise, and how they can be overcome.
Benedikt Grindel, Managing Director Germany of Ubisoft, and Kemal Gu0000fcrgu0000fclu0000fc, CTO of ARTE, will talk about AI and its significance for their business areas. Valerie Weber, Managing Director of Programming at Audiotainment Su0000fcdwest, will present her experiences in developing the first AI-driven web radio station.
In addition, Alex Petrenko from Kyiv will take part in ConCon. He is CEO & Co-Founder of Zibra AI, a start-up founded in Ukraine in 2021 that develops AI-generated content for the computer game industry.
In addition to the conference program, the AI Playground, and the masterclasses, visitors can use the Breakout Rooms in the exhibition area to try out the latest content innovations: How does virtual production work? How do I create extraordinary images with generative AI? How does AI help take accessibility to a new level? And what does an FPV drone have to do with the content of the future?
